Visiting the Galapagos Islands is one of the best ideas you could have; this natural paradise is a completely safe destination for everyone, as it is governed by the Ecuadorian Constitution, which has approved rights for all people as well as for nature. Thus, Ecuador is one of the 38 countries in the world where same-sex marriage is legal. Beyond celebrating love in all its forms, it is important to highlight the reasons why a getaway to Ecuador will be an unforgettable, safe, and respectful adventure.
An inclusive constitution
This is one of the strongest laws in Ecuador because it upholds freedom and respect for all its inhabitants. Article 11, paragraph 2, of the Constitution states that no form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity is permitted. Furthermore, Article 66, paragraph 9, states that all people have the right to make free and informed decisions about their own sexuality.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Baltra and Visit to the Giant Tortoise Farm.
From mainland Ecuador, you’ll board a flight to Baltra Island. Enjoy a warm welcome from your local guide, who will drive you to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, where you’ll visit a private ranch teeming with giant Galapagos tortoises.
Day 2: Tortuga Bay and Fausto Llerena Breeding Center
You and your travel companions will take a short hike from Puerto Ayora to Tortuga Bay, one of the most beautiful and renowned beaches in Ecuador and the world. This beach is made up of fine, soft, white coral sand, which is quite soft and bright, and the immense blue ocean. However, you should be careful; the waves in this area can be quite strong. However, if you continue along the beach trail, you will reach Playa Mansa, an ideal area for safe snorkeling and swimming.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Fausto Llerena Turtle Breeding Center, where Lonesome George spent the end of his life, a symbol of conservation.
Day 3: Isbela Island, Breeding Center and Wetlands and Tintoreras
Isabela Island is the largest island in the Galapagos archipelago and boasts unique terrain. After sailing between the islands and arriving in Puerto Villamil, you will visit the Arnaldo Tupiza Turtle Breeding Center. Here, you can observe a wide variety of birds and giant tortoises. After walking along these trails, your guide will take you to “Los Humedales” (Wetlands). The path here is very beautiful, as it is formed by four mangroves, where you will find unusual cacti and flamingos.
After a short break, you’ll visit one of the places that will undoubtedly end soon: Las Tintoreras, a volcanic rock formation where a small channel has formed where passengers can swim with hammerhead sharks, reef sharks, and various tropical fish.
Day 4: Visit the Twin Craters
Los Gemelos are located in a vast green area typical of the highlands. This natural viewpoint sits above the sinkhole of a volcano, so the landscape is truly beautiful. After this short visit, your local guide will drive you to the airport for your return flight to mainland Ecuador.
